Job Summary:
The Physician is a member of the cross-disciplinary team that includes health care providers, medical assistants, nurses, behavioral health, and other support staff. The Physician, OB/GYN, EPIC Trainer, supports the mission and values of Maple City Health Care Center (MCHCC) by providing obstetrical and gynecologic care for women. The position includes sharing call and hospital rounds. This position also requires OCHIN specialization to assist medical providers to improve quality and efficiency of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides obstetrical and gynecologic care for women in outpatient and hospital settings
- Provides clinical leadership support for the care team in which they are located
- Collaborates with nurse-midwives (CNM) and nurse practitioners (NP)
- Utilizes EMR in patient care and shares specialized knowledge with providers
- Utilizes multiple resources for staff communication
- Utilizes multiple resources for Goshen Hospital communication
- Serves as physician access EPIC specialist
- Identifies and develops EPIC educational opportunities for clinical staff
- Other duties that support our shared work, as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred, training supported
- Trauma Informed Care approach preferred, training supported
- Motivational Interviewing training preferred, training supported
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills
Education and Experience:
- Physician’s license to practice in the State of Indiana required
- OB/GYN Board Certified required
- DEA registration required
- State of Indiana license to prescribe controlled substances (CSR)
- BLS certification required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
- Ability to perform prolonged or extensive standing and walking
- Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
- Ability to perform prolonged periods of time in front of a computer
